Course details

On this one-day detailed introduction to Risograph collage techniques, we’ll teach you everything you need to know to use a Risograph printer and we’ll get into the details of developing more complex work, looking at the use of digital and traditional media textures to create collaged duo-tones for Riso.

We’ll start in the traditional media realm, creating textures to print out and use as collage material. We’ll generate some digital textures too. We’ll gather inspiration from our campus gardens, and create collages to use with the Riso printer in two colours (or if preferred, traditional media drawings can be layered with a single collage plate.

At the end of the course you’ll take home:

  • 20 Duotone split Risograph prints of your work
  • 1 digital print of your original collage for comparison

This course is taught by Cally Gibson, a senior Technician who teaches a broad range of digital skills at Falmouth and who is also a freelance reportage illustrator and painter, using Risograph prints regularly in her work.
