Sustainable Festival Management students host Eden Project event
14 December 2022
Second-year students from Sustainable Festival Management BA(Hons) recently delivered a live event at the Eden Project. ‘Kesvewa in Kernow’ invited visitors to celebrate in the meaning of living and belonging in Cornwall.
The one-day mini-fest took over the breath-taking Mediterranean Biome, showcasing a series of live sets from local music acts Isyla, Danish Book Club and Beau Bennett, storytellers and an interactive art workshop with early years pupils from local schools.
The event also exhibited selected entrants of a photography competition, with Marine & Natural History Photography BA(Hons) student Emily Silkstone coming in first place and taking home a cash prize.
What a dream to perform at the EDEN! @EdenLearningUK and the students at @FalmouthUni Sustainable Festival Management students ? and ?for your joyful event! (A small child dancing so hard he danced out of his trousers stole the show and any future show for all of time). pic.twitter.com/5cvQuBSEBj

Kesevwa in Kernow was delivered as part of Falmouth University’s partnership with the Eden Project. A true multi-disciplinary collaboration, the event was made possible with volunteer support from Creative Events Management BA(Hons) students and specialist technical support provided by students from Technical Theatre Arts BA(Hons). The experience was also captured on camera by Fashion Photography BA(Hons) student Marc Hubbard.
Helen Worthington, Senior Lecturer in Business & Experience Design at Cornwall Business School, said of the event: "I witnessed fabulous team work and event magic come together in Kesvewa in Kernow. The atmosphere and chilled vibe was incredibly special to be part of.
"Congratulations to the student event team of Ella Cohen, Jessica Hill-Thompson, Nick De Prazer, Jenny Cameron, Eve Mattinson, Neve Saxton, Megs Piperithis and Equator Dawn, and to the commitment and energy of our tech team from AMATA and all the volunteers."
