Falmouth Launchpad Becomes a Global Start-up Studio
09 April 2021
Falmouth University’s venture studio, Launchpad, has been accepted into the Global Startup Studio Network (GSSN).
A highly curated community of start-up studios, GSSN exist to give start-ups the power to create and grow powerful businesses and make a meaningful impact, wherever they call home.
James Murray, Head of the Launchpad Programme, explained what this means for Launchpad: “We’re thrilled to join a highly curated global network of venture studios. Joining the ranks of Human Ventures, Polymath Ventures, Enhance, Impossible, and High Alpha, amongst others. This association gives our venture teams unparalleled access to networks, finance and other support globally, accelerating and reinforcing their development.
“We’re also really proud to be the only member of GSSN embedded within a university, with a high calibre postgraduate degree programme. The network and reach of Falmouth Launchpad is now greater than ever before, and we’re really excited to work with other members of GSSN in creating high growth, high impact sustainable ventures.”
We see Launchpad as a unique leader in the studio space with their academic partnership.
Regan Smith, Community Success Manager at GSSN, said: "We are so excited to welcome Falmouth University's start-up studio, Launchpad, into GSSN. We see Launchpad as a unique leader in the studio space with their academic partnership. We believe they will bring a different perspective to our members and will set an example of how successful a university studio can operate and thrive."
GSSN is part of a much larger community, including GAN, a highly curated community of accelerators; GAN Partners, a community of corporate innovation teams eager to work with start-ups; and GAN Ventures, a venture arm interested in funding the best companies.
