We’re excited to welcome Ryan Norrington, Creative Director at Metavision, as a guest speaker for students and staff across the creative disciplines.

On 18 March at 3pm in Webster Studio, Ryan will be sharing his insights into the evolving landscape of gaming, offering a glimpse into the career paths and opportunities within the industry. With a background in advertising and media, he has carved out a unique role at ITV’s in-house game studio, Metavision, where he champions innovative storytelling and immersive brand experiences within the gaming world.

Ryan will explore the intersection of gaming, marketing, and creative storytelling, stressing the importance of gameplay-first thinking when engaging with gaming audiences – a notoriously tough crowd, highly sceptical of traditional advertising techniques.

As well as discussing his journey from studying advertising to directing creative projects at Metavision, Ryan will challenge students to think about how they can sharpen their creative skillsets and adapt to rapid technological advancements.

Ryan has visited Falmouth before to set live briefs for students, encouraging them to develop game concepts and marketing strategies that go beyond in-game advertising. His hands-on approach and deep understanding of immersive media and digital engagement will give students invaluable insights into the skills needed to break into this fast-paced industry.
