This day is designed for complete beginners to Agile and will give you tools to manage your projects more efficiently.  

Using Lego to experience Scrum sprints, you will cut through the theory and leave with techniques you can apply immediately. Come and learn how to help your team to get faster results, improve collaboration, and adapt more quickly to change.

Course details

This short course will enable you to get up and running with Scrum and Agile techniques quickly. The day is delivered by Colin Mitchell, who is a senior technician at our Games Academy and a certified Scrum Master.  Colin has over 20 years of hands-on experience and is a seasoned team leader who has successfully run projects in a wide range of industries.  

Over the course of the day, you will:  

  • Be taught the basics of how to implement Agile techniques with real-world examples. 
  • Work in small groups with a full afternoon of activity-based learning.  
  • Use Lego to learn how to prioritise product backlogs and experience running an efficient Scrum sprint in a team. 
  • Learn how to improve team collaboration for faster, higher quality results.  
  • Come away with tools to help your teams adapt more quickly to change. 

You will leave with practical techniques that you can apply to your creative projects immediately. 

This course includes refreshments and lunch, along with all materials you’ll need for the day.

Course Leader: Colin Mitchell


Colin is a Senior Technician at our Games Academy. With over 20 years of hands-on experience, Colin Mitchell is a certified Scrum Master, accomplished project manager, and seasoned team leader. Having successfully led projects across a wide range of industries, including telecoms, healthcare, IT, and the creative and specifically the Games sector.

How you'll learn

​​This course is delivered by Colin Mitchell, who is a senior technician at our Games Academy and a certified Scrum Master. This course has been designed around practical, experiential learning. Using real-world examples, Colin will explain the basics of Agile principles and techniques. Following this introduction, you’ll get straight into a series of creative exercises working in small teams using Lego.​ 

Who is this course for  

​​This course is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners to project management. It is particularly suited to individuals or companies in creative roles or sectors who may not usually look at Agile project management methods. This course will suit you if you are looking for a practical introduction to Scrum and Agile methodologies in an interactive day, rather than a theory-based certification. ​ 

​​A day of hands-on learning in a practical and fun course that cuts through the theory of Agile and Scrum. Please find a breakdown of timings to expect during the day below:  

​Arrival: 9.30am (welcome and refreshments) 

​Morning session: 10am – 1pm 

​Lunch: 1pm – 2pm 

​Afternoon session: 2pm - 5pm 

​Tea and coffee will be provided on arrival, mid morning and mid afternoon. Lunch is included in the course cost. 

​​All materials you will need are provided, but if you prefer to use your own please bring pens/paper and a laptop if preferred for note taking.​

​​This course is taught on our Penryn campus in a modern, light filled building.
