We're delighted to welcome the second of a new strategic partner – Counterfactual Ventures – who are focused on tackling food security, animal welfare and climate change.

James Murray, Head of Launchpad, said: "We're very excited to announce that Counterfactual Ventures will be working with us and our talented teams for this year. This second partner for our June cohort will add significant reach for our teams and strengthens the notion that Cornwall is an excellent space to start the co-creation of high-growth companies.

Counterfactual Ventures is proud to partner with Falmouth Launchpad in contributing towards the growth of the ag-and food-tech ecosystem in Cornwall.

"Counterfactual Ventures is an organisation that looks to impact at scale, and we're really pleased that they see we share the same values. We're really proud to bring them to our entrepreneurial ecosystem and give our ventures another massive advantage over the competition."

Huw Thomas, Co-Founder & President of Counterfactual Ventures, added: "Counterfactual Ventures is proud to partner with Falmouth Launchpad in contributing towards the growth of the ag-and food-tech ecosystem in Cornwall. Ever a place of agricultural innovation, Cornwall has an incredible opportunity to be a global leader in the new alternative protein revolution.

"As part of our mission to contribute meaningfully to all stakeholders affected by the 'protein transition', rather than 'disrupting the incumbents' as other tech companies may aim to do, we're very excited to add a partnership with Launchpad to our existing local partnership with Eden Project / Volans."

Counterfactual will work with Launchpad's new cohort of candidates, guiding them through the venture building process as they respond to industry changes and begin to build their start-ups.
