Dr. Pedro Longart, Launchpad Futures Programme’s marketing expert, recently attended the Advanced Engineering and Lab Innovations exhibitions at the NEC Birmingham on 30-31 October, representing Wes Engineering, a company actively modernising to support its growth trajectory, supported by Launchpad. He was joined by Wes Engineering’s Managing Director, James Gazzard, and Group Sales Manager, Jon Crocker.

The exhibitions provided a valuable platform for engaging with industry talent, sharing knowledge, and exploring innovative solutions. During the two-day event, Dr. Longart connected with industry leaders, secured leads, and explored opportunities for Wes Engineering in new sectors, including aerospace, defence, and rail.

On Day 1, Dr. Longart focused on the Lab Innovations Exhibition, connecting with exhibitors and identifying promising leads for follow-up. Day 2 at the Advanced Engineering Exhibition focused on aerospace and advanced engineering, where Dr. Longart attended industry forums and identified potential long-term partnerships that align with Wes Engineering’s growth goals.

In addition to marketing objectives, Dr. Longart gathered insights for strategic recommendations. These included exploring industry certifications, key partnerships, and operational enhancements. Observing Wes Engineering’s processes firsthand highlighted areas for technology solutions that could streamline operations minimising risk to lose business.

Wes Engineering’s stand was featured within Conex, a networking association that has provided substantial support for Wes Engineering, both at the event and beyond, facilitating valuable connections across the industry.

Reflecting on the event, Dr. Longart remarked, “This was an invaluable chance to see emerging technologies like autonomous transport and hydrogen-powered planes. The innovation on display is inspiring, and I look forward to applying these insights to support Wes Engineering’s growth.” The exhibition proved highly beneficial, generating key leads and affirming its importance for Wes Engineering’s strategic objectives.
