Internal Progression Agreement

The Internal Progression Agreement allows students to progress from an Online undergraduate to an Online postgraduate course at Falmouth University via automatic qualification based on academic results.
The Internal Progression Agreement incentivises academic achievement, reduced administrative barriers and provides flexibility for graduates considering further education with Falmouth.
What does the Agreement entail?
Automatic offer for new graduates
Student who graduate with a 2:2 (Second-Class Honours) or higher in their online undergraduate degree will automatically qualify for a postgraduate offer on an aligned online postgraduate master’s programme.
The student is not required to accept the offer immediately. If the student applies within one year of graduating their online undergraduate course, the offer will be made without the requirement for a personal statement or portfolio.
Flexibility in application period
The progression offer remains valid for up to five years after the student graduates their online undergraduate course.
For applications made after the first year of graduation, a personal statement outlining professional, academic or personal development activities during the intervening period will be required.
This will not be considered an APEL application. We will require only the statement outlined above to be satisfactory to the relevant course leader.
Elimination of administrative barriers
No portfolio or additional supporting materials will be required for eligible students who apply within one year of graduating their online undergraduate course, reducing the administrative burden on the student.
Progression routes
Automatic progression is available for the following routes:
-
BA Visual Communication (Online) to MA Photography (Online), MA Graphic Design (Online) or MA Illustration (Online)
-
BA Creative Writing (Online) to MA Comedy Writing (Online) or MA Writing for Script & Screen (Online)
A graduate that applies to a course that does not align with the above will be considered on an individual basis, and will need to produce a personal statement of why they are looking to study a different course, regardless of when they apply.
Eligibility
- Completion of an online undergraduate course with Falmouth University
- A minimum classification of 2:2
- Application made within five years of graduation (with varying documentation requirements based on the timeline)
