My guide to international food shops in Falmouth and Truro

"Hi, I'm Lucy, a second year Television student at Falmouth University. Before I came to Falmouth, something I considered was if the area had international food shops nearby where I could find ingredients to make the food I enjoyed at home. In this video, I'll show you three of the international food shops in the Falmouth area, one in Falmouth and two in Truro."

"Buses from Penryn campus run to Falmouth and Truro regularly and take about 25 minutes for Falmouth and 40 minutes for Truro. Falmouth and Truro are also on the same six-stop train line. My first stop was The Corner Shop in Falmouth, two minutes walk from the main bus stop."

"The off-license is perfect for necessities. It has a small fresh produce section, frozen and refrigerated goods, and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The highlights of this store for me are the snacks and the convenient location."

"The next two shops are in Truro, about a 15-minute walk from the Truro train station. The fresh food store is the Halal Grocery and Butchers, which has a large fresh fruit and veggie section and a selection of sauces, herbs, seasonings, and starches. It's a great store to browse in because of the range of choice and the friendly staff."

"They also have helpful menus about to show what they supply. It's a good place to stock up. I like to pick up dumpling skins for dumpling-making nights with friends."

"The Thai and Asian food store is just a couple minutes away and has a great selection of noodles, instant and non-instant, and other bespoke products like frozen dim sum or this cool vase. I especially like the Lao Gan Ma chilli oil. Today, I just picked up a few essentials and some miso paste to try out."
