Do you have a passion for performance or ever dreamt of taking on a lead role in a musical? Now is your chance to turn on the spotlight and take part in a production of Disney’s Newsies Jr.
Falmouth University and Hall for Cornwall have joined forces to run an exciting 6-day summer school this August. Working with expert professionals you will have the chance put your creativity to practice through singing, acting and dance, all culminating with a public performance of Disney’s Newsies Jr. on Saturday 23 August.

Summer school dates:
- Monday 18 till Saturday 23 August 2025
- Additional audition day (half day) - date and times TBC
- Public performance of Disney's Newsies Jr. on Saturday 23 August at 19:00
Summer school age range:
- This summer school is suitable for young people at secondary school - further education (years 7-13).
- This summer school is also suitable for young people who are currently in year 6 but will be in year 7 in the 2025-2026 academic year.
- We can only accept young people at the age of 18 who turn 18 during the current 2024-2025 academic year. If you have any questions about age suitability, please contact boxoffice@falmouth.ac.uk to discuss in more detail.
Summer school costs:
- £250 per person
It is possible to pay for the summer school in £50 instalments by the following dates after you have made the first £100 payment (first £100 payment must be made prior to instalment 2):
- Instalment 2 deadline - Wednesday 14 May
- Instalment 3 deadline - Wednesday 18 June
- Instalment 4 deadline - Wednesday 16 July

Summer school location:
This summer school and the performance of Disney's Newsies Jr. is being delivered at the AMATA Arts Centre, in the purpose built studios, (Falmouth University, Penryn Campus) and not at Hall for Cornwall in Truro.
