Transitioning from active service to study can seem daunting, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Wellbeing, accessibility and employability are just some of the ways Falmouth students are supported throughout their time with us, and online students benefit from the same levels of support as on-campus students.

Our Accessibility and Inclusive Learning team support and advise students with disabilities, health conditions and Specific Learning Differences (such as dyslexia, dyspraxia or ADHD).  You can access their support as soon as you have accepted your place, and can find their contact details and more information on the Accessibility and Inclusion study hub.

While you're studying, your Tutor will offer regular feedback on your work and be your first point of contact for any academic queries. You'll also have continual access to technical support, and a Student Advisor who'll be there to answer any general questions you have, help you to access academic and wellbeing support services (like our employability service) and guide you throughout your student journey.

Falmouth University is proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant: a demonstration of our commitment to providing respect, support and fair treatment for members of the Naval Service, the Army and Royal Air Force, who have made an important contribution through their service.

The University will ensure that service personnel, or people from service families, are fully supported to access Higher Education.

We’re an approved provider for the Ministry of Defence Learning Credit Scheme (ELCAS). Further information can be found on the ELCAS website (provider ID 3443). You can use your ELCAS credits towards the course fees on any of Falmouth University’s undergraduate or postgraduate programmes (online or on-campus). If you have any questions about funding your course, please contact student.finance@falmouth.ac.uk.

Serving in the military will have given you valuable experience and skills beyond academic qualifications. At Falmouth University, we want to give the opportunity for these skills to be recognised in your application: enabling you to apply for courses even if you don’t have the required formal qualifications or have been out of education for some time.

Through our Accreditation of Prior Learn (APEL) process, you can outline any relevant experience, qualifications and achievements for our course team to consider in full. If we grant you an Accreditation of Prior Learning, this could mean you are able to study your chosen course even if you don’t meet the entry requirements, or that you are may be exempt from taking certain modules on that course.

We consider Accreditation of Prior Learning requests carefully, as we want to grant fair access to studying with us, while also ensuring you'll be able to thrive on your chosen course. You can read more about this process here.
