Wendy Kotenko
Senior Technician weave, The Fashion & Textiles Institute
Wendy Kotenko is senior technician for weave on the textile design programme. She has an MA in Textile Design, specializing in weave. Wendys MA study included a one year exchange to Okinawa prefectural University of Arts in Japan. Research in Japan included traditional hand weaving in Okinawa, the native natural dyes of Okinawa and the use of paper and the native Ramie plant fibre for weaving. She currently designs and makes hand woven and Jacquard woven textiles and is a member of the Cornwall crafts association and the textile society. Wendy has recently exhibited work at the Scythia textile art exhibition in the Ukraine and won the Bristol cloth textile design competition in 2015. Latest projects include the spinning, weaving and dyeing of Alpaca fibre.External Links
