Steve Bough

Steve has enjoyed a successful 25 year career in the magazine industry with experience writing and editing for a range of titles. He has worked in a variety of roles from feature writer to editor-in-chief, covering many sectors from sports to technology. Steve lived in Sydney in the early 90s working for Mason Stewart Publishing and then Sega Australia. In 1995, he moved back to the UK and worked for Future Publishing working on titles such as T3, Total Film and Football Italia.In 1998, he joined Northcliffe Newspapers, part of the Daily Mail group. Starting out as deputy editor for Cornwall Live, he moved on to edit Cornwall Today and Wavelength as well as overseeing a portfolio of magazines and contributing to the weekly newspaper. Steve also spent a period of time working in the Cornwall Council press office, editing their monthly newspaper for the 500,000 residents of Cornwall. He joined the Journalism team at Falmouth University in September 2015.
His teaching specialisms include magazine production, blogging and production journalism. Steve has an MA from Falmouth University and a PGCHE. Alongside lecturing, he continues to work as a freelance journalist and when not at work can be found surfing at one of Cornwall’s fine beaches.
