Simon Foster
Executive Director, Estates, Operations and Planning
Simon joined Falmouth University in July 2023 and leads the estates, facilities, and infrastructure strategy within Falmouth University, alongside colleagues in FX Plus, with the aim of providing a safe, secure and creative environment in which our staff and students can thrive. This includes overseeing the estates, facilities and operational plans in support of the University’s strategic direction and delivering institutional targets that have a broad scope and major long-term impact on the success of the institution.
Previously, Simon was Regional Head for the UK Department for Education’s (DfE) Free Schools Capital, Further Education and Skills (FSFES) Programme in South West England and North West London. In this role, Simon was accountable for around 60 live major capital projects, delivering high-quality new school buildings across the regions. Prior to this, Simon worked in Higher Education as Senior Policy and Strategy Advisor at the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and as National Higher Education (HE) Research Infrastructure Programme Manager, working across UK and International HE partners for cloud-based infrastructure for research data. He has extensive experience in property management, capital works and infrastructure programmes, land acquisition, feasibility studies and much more.
