Policy engagement within Cornwall
Engagement with organisations which contribute to the development of educational, cultural or socio-economic policies in Cornwall
In June 2024 , a body of work produced by Second year Illustration students during Modules IL202 and IL210 was exhibited at the Newlyn Art Gallery. The catalyst was a visual research field trip led by award winning Reportage Artist Olivier Kugler and myself to Newlyn Fishing Port. Creative workshops delivered by the students were hosted at the Studio Space at the gallery and our students worked with local Newlyn School pupils.
During 2024 , our second year Illustration students participated in a collaborative project with partners from 'The Ladder 'in Redruth and students from the Journalism course at Falmouth to illustrate a newspaper delivered to every household in the town , to forge community and raise awareness of related events in the area.

The Bristol Collaboration project, 2017
Collaboration with Dave Bain / Falmouth University Alumni
Dave Bain is a graduate of Falmouth, living and working in Bristol. Dave practises as an Illustrator and has also set up Illustration studios in the Stokes Croft area of Bristol and is responsible for setting up Illustration collectives in Bristol. In 2017, myself and Natalie Hayes collaborated with Dave to develop a study trip for Level 2 students to visit Bristol. Dave acted as Co-Ordinator and together we developed an itinerary of student visits to Illustrator / Artist studios including Hamilton House , Jamaica Street Studios and Space Gallery, where Dave currently has a studio. A brief was devised, related to the theme of 'Regeneration' and work produced in response to this was exhibited on the final day of the trip in the gallery area of Space studio.
A workshop was delivered by Tom Newell of Limbic Cinema ( in which drawings made by students were converted digitally and projected onto both 3D and 2D formats. One of the primary purposes of the project was to introduce students to the concept of locating as a professional in Bristol as an alternative to London. We have a large alumni presence in Bristol and the trip was conceived to strengthen these connected communities of practitioners with our students.

Students also visited other restaurants in the area. work developed for the project will be exhibited at the Newlyn Gallery in the spring of 2024.
Funding for this project was awarded by KEF following a proposal that Linda submitted for the project in 2023 and which, without , the project would not have gone ahead.
Engagement with professional associations and societies
Linda is a member of the Scientific Committee for CONFIA and over the past few years has been involved with blind reviewing conference papers and moderating panels.
