New London Exhibition for Alumna Tacita Dean
28 March 2018
Celebrated alumna Tacita Dean's artwork will be exhibited at three of London's most prestigious art venues from March to August 2018.
The National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Academy of Arts will be showcasing the various aspects of Tacita's work, most famously her use of the medium of analogue film. Tacita studied Fine Art at Falmouth from 1985 to 1988, and was nominated for the Turner Prize shortly after in 1994.
Her work will also be on display at Falmouth this May, when her 2015 film, Event for a Stage, will be presented for four days at our Academy of Music and Theatre Arts (AMATA) on the Penryn Campus. This screening is part of the ambitious international art project Groundwork, organised by the Cornubian Arts and Science Trust (CAST).
Tacita Dean has been the recipient of various awards throughout her career, including the Kurt Schwitters Prize and the Hugo Boss Prize. Other recent exhibitions include a major solo presentation at Museo Tamayo in Mexico City, Arcadia University Art Gallery in Pennsylvania and Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.
