New Designer awards fruitful for five students
12 July 2024
Five students have won prizes at this year’s New Designers awards.
The prestigious annual New Designers awards are judged by key industry leaders to find the rising stars of tomorrow.
Three students from our BA Textiles Design course and two from BA Sustainable Product Design received awards, building on Beth Somerville's success in last year's awards.
Textile Design course leader Sally-Ann Gill said, "I’m so pleased for this cohort of students. Getting recognition from New Designers in the form of these awards shows how well our students are prepared for industry. Our students are professional, with full, exciting portfolios of inventive and technically proficient work. We were praised for the way original narrative is built into project outcomes and this is certainly true of Ellie, Lucy and Megan’s textile designs."
