After working and gaining experience at various creative agencies, Graphic Design BA(Hons) graduate Anouska decided to switch routes and pursue a career in fashion.

As a Graphic Designer at AllSaints, she is now solely responsible for the artwork in over 200 stores globally as well as London Fashion Week, and more.

We caught up with Anouska after a busy end of year period for the fashion brand.

Talk us through your current role at AllSaints.

I’ve been working at AllSaints since January 2024, and it’s been an amazing experience so far. When I first joined, I worked under the global art director as part of a team of two. Together, we were responsible for the entire brand’s identity, working across print. This included overseeing seasonal campaign artwork in stores around the world (the most exciting yet challenging part of my job), as well as designing billboards, magazines, seasonal lookbooks, and much more.

For the past five months, I have been the sole designer for the company after the art director moved on. This has brought a lot more responsibility, but it’s also given me the opportunity to oversee and take charge of many exciting new projects.

What drew you to graphic design?

My passion for graphic design began at a young age. I have always loved art and surrounded myself with it. It wasn’t until my A-levels that I discovered the digital side of art. I instantly fell in love with it and haven’t looked back! Specialising in collage and photomontage is where I found my niche, and I used that as the backbone of my portfolio when applying to Falmouth. Among the fine art and illustrative work I was also creating at the time, I realised there was so much more to learn, and more that fascinated me about graphic design than any other creative subject.

What were your favourite projects from the Graphic Design course? How did you find it after graduation?

Some of my defining projects during the course at Falmouth came in my second year. The first was in the Brand Experience module, where I had the chance to design and develop my own sustainable fashion retail brand. This was my first introduction to working in fashion and involved exploring different design avenues, including print design, organic social media, and advertising. I absolutely loved this project, as it allowed me to embrace a new style informed by plenty of brand-related research and creative decision-making.

Another highlight was creating publications and magazines. These projects encouraged my love of editorial fashion design and were instrumental in shaping my creative direction.

After graduating, I had a couple of internships lined up at creative agencies, and I was also applying for full-time roles. Many of the positions required me to complete project-based briefs, which helped me gain incredible insider knowledge about some big-name brands, such as McLaren and Dunhill. Through these experiences, I realised that working in-house was the right fit for me—particularly in the fashion industry, where I could incorporate my design style into my work.

Who would you recommend the course at Falmouth to?

I’d recommend the Graphic Design course at Falmouth to anyone looking to expand their creative skills and knowledge. This course really challenged me and pushed the boundaries of what I thought was possible in design.

If you’re also looking for a university experience at a stunning campus, surrounded by beautiful beaches and a charming seaside town, Falmouth is definitely the place to be!

What’s next for you in your career?

There’s always something new and exciting happening in the industry I work in, which means no two days are ever the same. I’m especially looking forward to seeing the new directions AllSaints will explore in the very near future.
