Falmouth graduate’s vodka brand design wins Bulletproof 100%Proof competition
09 August 2023
Graphic Design BA(Hons) graduate Murray Harden has won this year’s Bulletproof 100%Proof competition with his entry Kuiper 9 Vodka.
Murray’s design project created a unique brand story around the speculative concept of a nine-times distilled vodka, sourced from ice fragments collected in space. The Falmouth graduate won £1000 in prize money and a paid internship position with Bulletproof.
Reflecting on his achievement, Murray said: “The Bulletproof workshop was highly creative and interactive which made me want to take part in the competition.
“Throughout the project I was supported by the team from Bulletproof who guided me through the brief and really helped me to develop my ideas into this award-winning outcome.”
Bulletproof is a strategic brand design agency with studios in London, New York, Singapore, Amsterdam, Sydney and Shanghai.
Murray’s entry was well executed and thought out, and by exploring all avenues he really took the project the extra mile.
Falmouth Graphic Design alumni and designers at Bulletproof, Maddy Travers and Maddie Thomas recently visited Falmouth and ran a workshop with third-year Graphic Design students. The workshop used a bespoke app to create random briefs from a selection of song lyrics.
The two graduates helped our students generate a range of concepts and also continued to support them in transforming these concepts into substantial projects. Following the workshop, students were invited to London to deliver their final presentations in person.
Maddie Thomas said: “The 100%Proof competition is a great way for students to express their fresh ideas and for us to discover new talent. Our uniquely generated briefs always aim to allow students to let loose and have fun whilst still pushing them out of their comfort zones.
“Many of our designers were recruited through the competition, showing the proof is in the pudding! Murray’s entry was well executed and thought out, and by exploring all avenues he really took the project the extra mile. We can't wait to welcome him to the studio for his internship with us this summer!”
