Falmouth alumni shortlisted for the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2022
27 September 2022
Three Falmouth graduates have been shortlisted for this year’s Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize and are due to exhibit their work in London from 29 September.
Graduates Susannah Douglas, Andy Gomez and Eleanor Bedlow are among the 94 artists who have been shortlisted for the prize and the awards announcements will take place on 28 September.
The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize is known as one of the UK’s most prestigious annual open exhibitions for drawing. This year, the awards and prizes are ranging from £2,000 to £8,000.
The drawings selected for this year’s exhibition reflect a broad scope of contemporary drawing practice - including works on paper and other supports, moving image and performance - by artists and drawing practitioners at all stages of their careers.
Susannah, Andy and Eleanor’s entries stood out to selectors who received over 3,200 submissions from 1,617 practitioners located across 45 countries.
The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2022 exhibition will open to the public at Trinity Buoy Wharf in London from 29 September 2022 until 16 October 2022 before touring to venues across the UK. A fully illustrated publication and public engagement programme will accompany the exhibition and tour.
All shortlisted entries were selected for this year’s prize by Lucy Byatt, Director of Hospitalfield; Danie Mellor, Artist; Isabel Seligman, Monument Trust Curator of Modern and Contemporary Drawing in the Department of Prints and Drawings at The British Museum.
We’re wishing our graduates the best of luck ahead of the awards announcement.
