What to expect on the day

Our Applicant Day is all about dialogue, exploring exciting ideas and making new connections. We aim to ensure that you'll leave the session with a clear understanding about our unique creative community.

During your visit to Falmouth University on Applicant Day, you'll spend the afternoon in AMATA (Academy of Music & Theatre Arts), where you'll have your individual interview (if you have one booked), take part in a range of sessions with our music lecturers and AMATA technical staff and get the opportunity to talk about the course with our staff and students.

We'll introduce you to some exciting ideas and new ways of thinking about sound and music and you'll be able to see and hear examples of student and graduate work as well as explore the facilities and equipment that are available for you to work with at AMATA.

The workshop will be run by core members of the course teaching team. They will be the academic staff who will be teaching you should you choose to study at Falmouth.

What will you take part in?

A practical workshop in the discipline of your chosen course. Please follow the audition guidance and prepare the material even if you are not sure if you want to formally audition. Theatre Arts is a practical subject so having some prepared material will give you the best chance to really see how we work here at Falmouth.

What facilities will you use?

You'll be working in the AMATA building – our state-of-the-art, performance facility. You'll have the opportunity to explore the whole building while you are with us and get a feel for the place. We are really proud of our building, our studios and our facilities.

What will you leave the session with?

You'll have a good, practical overview of how your chosen course is taught and you'll have met some of the core staff who'll be teaching you should you choose to study at Falmouth.

Why you should come to an Applicant Day?

The Applicant Day experience is practical. You'll be doing the sort of things that you'll experience on a daily basis if you chose to study your chosen course here at Falmouth. If you want to do your audition on the same day, you can. If you would like to visit us first with no pressure, then you can do that too.
