Academic Partnerships
At Falmouth University we work in partnership with a number of specialist institutions from the UK and around the world. Our partnerships create more opportunities for students, ensuring access to cutting-edge higher education in the creative sectors.
Our carefully selected partners share our values and quality standards. They include higher, further and private education providers globally and in the UK, who offer courses at differing levels and in differing modes.
Partnership Types
Franchise
Our Franchise Partners deliver Falmouth University courses either at their premises or online. Students taking part in these courses achieve a Falmouth University qualification and certificate. They are enrolled as students of Falmouth University, but the courses are delivered by our partners, allowing students to access the resources and teaching support of the partner organisation - which has been approved by Falmouth University. Our Franchise Partnerships bring new expertise and networks to students.
Validation
Our Validation Partners design courses to meet the needs of the creative sectors and prospective students, and build more learning opportunities. The courses are approved by Falmouth University and students achieve a Falmouth University qualification and certificate. They are enrolled with the partner and take part in the course at the partner’s premises or online. They also access the partner’s resources and teaching support, which have been approved by Falmouth University.
Dual/Double Degrees
Students begin their studies with either Falmouth University or a partner organisation but transfer to the other institution part-way through to complete their studies. At the end of their studies they receive awards from both Falmouth University and the partner organisation.
Articulation & Progression Partnerships
Both partnership models recognise the study undertaken at a partner institution as suitably preparing students for entry onto a Falmouth University Course. Either for entry at level 4, level 7 for postgraduate, or with advanced standing.
Articulation agreements
Articulation agreements guarantee students a place on a specified Falmouth University Course, upon successful completion of a programme of study with an approved partner.
NB: Mandatory entry requirements, such as IELTS for international students, are still required.
Progression agreements
These recognise the successful completion of a partner programme as preparing the students academically for entry onto a Falmouth University course. However, other entry criteria such as a portfolio submission or an interview will still apply.
